Please tell me more about what specifically interests you when it comes to starting mermaiding.
When I started these are some of the steps that I took:
I purchased a practice monofin like this: http://www.swimoutlet.com/ProductDetails.asp?subscribe=Y&ProductCode=1266&gclid=CjwKEAjwl7ieBRCK2rCtqcCS7jESJACZKQFKGiuFoFEMG8SPH8A1N4pI_dA1Xu2nERuc9lZy07uTDhoCfgDw_wcB
Then I began researching tails, which took lots of time to find out what was right tail for me.
I also swim a lot of traditional strokes without a monofin; and looked up various aquatic ballet techniques to practice.
PLEASE: Be safe about holding your breath! It is not that huge of a deal to up your breath hold because most tanks require PADI SCUBA certs. Learn to hold your breath only under a certified instructor, I can send you to some great teachers for both SCUBA and Apnea!
Also, dance classes like belly dance will really help. You might want to create a portfolio of sorts to show people who you are and what you want to do.
If you have questions about tails that you are looking at, or anything else, I am happy to chat!
Lastly, I volunteer a lot... Read to children, offer free services to fundraisers, or deserving people, etc. Any time that I have ever wanted something, I tried to get it by finding people that I can help and would love to work with and connecting that way. It is really important to find success by reaching out. <3
I look forward to your transformation.
